At FijiKava, sustainability is no buzzword; it's a key part of our ethos, woven into every aspect of our operations. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our environmental impact, enveloping the entirety of our supply chain, the well-being of our partnering farmers and our contribution to the Fijian community. This approach ensures that our products, our farmers and our community are positioned for sustained, ethical success now and into the future.

Building a resilient supply chain that gives back

Our partnership with local farmers from across Fiji enables us to tap into a vast supply of kava, protected against weather and produce issues.

With each plant yielding around 5kgs of green kava, and an average farm hosting over 10,000 plants, we can keep our supply chain ensured. Our large sourcing strategy also insulates us from localised adverse weather conditions that could impact crop yields, keeping a steady and reliable supply of kava for our production needs.

This strategy isn't just to keep our supply chain robust. FijiKava's wide map of sourced framers contributes to the resilience of local farming communities, providing them with a steady income and reinforcing their economic sustainability across the country.

Market sustainability

There's a growing global demand for natural health and wellness solutions. And that's where FijiKava comes in. Our commitment to providing high-quality, pure Noble Kava products fill a gap in a market increasingly looking for alternatives to strong pharmaceuticals and alcohols for relaxation, sleep and pain needs.

Furthermore, our adherence to transparent and traceable supply chain practices aligns with the increasing consumer demand for ethical and sustainable products.

By integrating sustainability into every level of our operations, FijiKava is not only setting itself up for future success but also contributing positively to our environment and our communities. This forward-thinking, comprehensive approach to sustainability reinforces our position as a trusted provider of

Noble Kava and affirms our commitment to building a better future.

The PHAMA Plus Program has been instrumental in supporting agricultural development in the region. By partnering with them, we were able to donate Tutu with a fully equipped nursery that will help boost their local farming capabilities.

Fostering economic growth within our Fijian community

Our fair trade approach is pivotal to fostering sustainability at the community level. By paying a premium price for the kava directly to farmers, we're committing to stimulating local economies and contributing to a more equitable distribution of wealth.

This commitment empowers farmers and their communities, enhancing their economic stability and creating a cycle of growth and prosperity at a local level. Our partnership with the TUTU RURAL Training Centre is a key piece of this commitment, offering students an opportunity to earn a significant income through kava farming while also learning sustainable farming practices.

Respecting traditional farming practices

Our commitments to sustainability flow through to our commitment to stay true to traditional, sustainable kava farming practices. The cultivation of kava is a low-impact prcocess, using minimal water with no need for synthetic pesticides or fertilisers.

We trust and embrace both our farmers traditional practices and the principles outlines in the Ministry of Agriculture's Fiji Kava Quality Manual. These practices not only help to preserve the rich, fertile soils of Fiji, but ensure the purity and quality of our kava with every yield.
